I am like Mango because... (10 reasons why)

Mango has this great contest going on wherein one does a blog entry as to why they are like Mango or why they are a Mango wanna-be. As I have always held Mr. Mango in the highest of regard, it is easy for me to share how I have taken on some of his most sterling qualities. Shall we begin?

I am like Mango because....(10 reasons why)

(1) I have enormous teeth with which I terrorize my brother, Cooper. (Mango does the same with his brother, Dexter).

(I know this is a most scary of pictures but it was a controlled bite-fest and no one was hurt)

(2)  I am a patriotic dog and I am fighting the war on terrorism here in Philomath, Oregon. Since I started my unit, Osama Bin Laden has not been seen in the area. (Mum said Osama Bin Laden has never been seen in this area but that is immaterial).

(3) I helped send out the alert that our local food cooperative, First Alternative, was serving Mango smoothies this Spring and organized a local boycott. We sent a powerful message that Mango smoothies were just wrong!

(4) I am a snappy dresser, like Mango, and try and dress for each and every holiday.

(5) I am able to do controlled pee'ing so that Cooper and I can do synchronized pee'ing in the yard. It's not as easy as it looks.

(6) I am incredibly patient with my parents and let them use me as a prop for parades and other self-centered activities. I rarely bite small children who pull my ears and I let old ladies coo over me.

(7) I sleep in the most amazing postures, like Mango, except unlike Mango, I got no family jewels because I got tutored.

(8) Like Mango I am incredibly brave and did not cry in either of my two knee surgeries and only made a couple of rude comments when I was on the morphine. Plus, I look adorable when I am asleep.

(9) I am a dedicated sentry and rarely sleep on duty.

(10) I was the first dog in the family and made all the family pictures much more appealing with my "corginess" and yet, I have never been one to draw attention to myself.

That is pretty much my essay on how I am like Mango. Perhaps you should enter the contest! Click here and learn how you can enter.

Now I am off to stuff the ballot box if I can find it.

Love, Dozer

PS: Please keep my friend Howie PeePants in your thoughts and prayers. He is in the hospital because of pancreatitis. Go visit and let his Mum, Nancy, know you are pulling for the big guy. We love you Howie, get well soon!

Oh the Grief, that Shock and the Wonder!

Mum and I were driving over to the Alternative Co-op where we get our organic noms and all of a sudden Mum put her hand over my eyes and screamed, "DON'T LOOK!". So of course I peeked and I saw this

I started crying and howling! They're making smoothies out of one of my bestest friends, Mango Dog! Arooooo! This is terrible and who knows how long it has been going on! Aroooo! If they keep this up there won't be anything left our Relentlessly Huge Mango!
Consider putting this badge on your blog to alert our pawrents not to buy a Mango smoothie.
They may sound nutritous but it only spells disaster!

(Editors Note: The smoothie in question did not cost $375.00 (see above) although a smoothie made out of Relentlessly Huge would be more than worth $375.00, not that the Editor would purchase said smoothie. This is all a hypothetical.)

Messages De-Coded

Mango has left a new comment on your post "When You Care Enough to Send the Very Best - Dozer...":

Dozer,

Don't you worry. I can tell you are under stress. I know that "Cooper is not a poopy-head" is secret code for "Help! I am trapped with Cooper poopy-head and starving to death!" (Exactly! You are reading this correctly Mango!)

What is this sleeping on the bed only four nights? I think you have been in jail for totally 372 nights, right?  (Dad's been away on a trip to Seattle and that is the only time we get to have a pig pile on the bed. Otherwise we sleep on our own beds on Mum's side of the bed on the floor. I am sure the ASPCA would be interested in this!)

Slobbers, Mango

P.S. Momma says your mom is very silly and must love you a lot. Humph. Must be code for "keep that corgi skinny and behind bars" (I am pretty sure Mum is psycho and is using humor to deflect any inquiring minds from checking on me and my well being but yes, you de-coded the message about my incarceration and diet).

CARE packages may be sent to me in care of General Delivery, Philomath, Oregon. I will have Dottie walk down to the post office to pick up for me. Even though it is a one mile trip (round-trip) and she is deaf and blind, I cannot trust Cooper. I think he is a mole or a snitch, not sure which. If you send the mini-meatloafs, send extra ketchup please.

Message to Mango

Mango Man:

We need whatever you can send, we are running low on acorns to lob at them and we are completely out of rubber band guns. We were going to send Dottie out on a night mission but being blind, she got lost in the garden and we found her behind the composter asleep this morning. Mum said suiting us up each morning before she goes to work is getting a little ridiculous but she is not the one keeping our yard and America safe from flying rodents.

Our biggest concern right now is that the squirrels are ringing the doorbell and then running up trees and hiding. Cooper says they are doing this to wear us out. Mum says it has to stop or it will drive Dad nuts. These people have no priorities!

Thanks Mango, we await anything you can send. Please do not send PeeWee.

Love, Dozer, Cooper and Dottie (once we find her)

Shameless Advertising - Because We Can!

Our Aunt Laura is going to be at the Linn County Fairgrounds (Albany, Oregon) tomorrow and Sunday for the AKC All Breed Dog Show, Obedience Trial and Rally Obedience. Unfortunately she is not showing her four chihuahuas (Sparky, Tucker, Molly and Katie) but she is going to have her own little booth/table for her nifty collars. I thought Mum should buy me a bunch of collars so I could change them every day to suit my mood and temprement for that day. Mum said something about something freezing over and we never got much further than that. These are some of the collars. Cooper wants the one with the eggs which seems a little strange to me but I think he is still in Easter mode. I saw one with a pirate motif but Mum nixed that one - she said I am not playing pirate and making Coop and Dottie walk the plank for my own amusement.

So this is my shameless advertising of Aunt Laura's handmade collars. The sad news is that they really only fit small dogs like chihuahuas so they aren't meant for relentlessly huge dogs like Mango. But if you want to stop by I had Mum hyperlink the pictures and the title (I told you I was shameless).

The Queen's Visit - Dozer

Things were going so well with the visit from Her Majesty until Mango showed up and let loose with one of his famous farts. Suddenly the Queen had "another engagement" to get to and left. Our chances of getting knighted have disappeared in the fog of Mango's fragrance.

"Does anyone else smell something.....well, Mango'ish?"

Dozer Square Pants

Mango has left a new comment on your post "Dozer Squared":

Gee, that's an unfortunate place to be shaved. I don't know how you can overcome the embarassment. Its not like you can wear a hat on your butt.

Slobbers, Mango

I'm not sure that is as a supportive message that I might have wanted from Mango...man, o man, o Mango!

I've Won the Bronze! Wooooo Hooooo!

I can't believe it! I placed in the Paw-limpics at Wire Wise! I always hoped my training would bring great things but this is incredible! I won the bronze in Bitey-Face, not my best event but I had quite the opponent in my red dinosaur. I guess it was the fact that I was biting him in the butt that helped put me over the top!

My toilette on seaweed and kelp at the beach helped me win the bronze in the Pee-mail competition too. I'm sure it was my form that the judges saw and felt deserved recognition. I really lifted my leg using the best technique I had.

The competition in Paw-limpics is incredible. The gold and silver medal winners are what I hope to achieve as I continue to train for this prestigious competition. I can't believe my pal Sparky isn't here (what a time to go on vacation!) but I will make sure Mango, Izzie, Moxie, River, The Saints and the Fatties see my medal.

It is silly but this made Mum's day! She sent an email to everyone in the family with the link to the Paw-limpics. She said sometimes it is just the little things in life that make a day go from ordinary to simply extraordinary. But she says bribing the judges is completely out of the question. It was just a thought...

Bitey-Face with the red dinosaur brought me a bronze. This is when I had him on the ropes and he was about to cry "Uncle!"

I won the bronze in the Pee-Mail competition too. Check out the leg lift in this picture. I had to stand tippy-toe because I have short legs but sometimes you have to give it your all to achieve your dreams.
