Will You Join Us?

Mum has signed us up to be part of One Day on Earth on 11-11-2011. It is very exciting and we are praticing taking pictures for the event. All over the planet people will be documenting the day! (Read below for a better explanation).

We hope you can join us. This could be the start of something big!

Love, Dozer and Cooper

Visit One Day on Earth

On November 11th, 11.11.11, across the planet, documentary filmmakers, students, and other inspired citizens will record the human experience over a 24-hour period and contribute their voice to the second annual global day of media creation called One Day on Earth. Together, we will create a shared archive and a film. Founded in 2008, One Day on Earth's first media creation event occurred on 10.10.10. The collaboration was the first ever simultaneous filming event occuring in every country of the world. It created a unique geo-tagged video archive as well as an upcoming feature film. Together, we are showcasing the amazing diversity, conflict, tragedy, and triumph that occurs in one day. We invite you to join our international community of thousands of filmmakers, hundreds of schools, and dozens of non-profits, and contribute to this unique global mosaic. One Day on Earth is a community that not only watches, but participates.

Presents! Presents! But Not All For Me - Dozer

Melissa and Emmit at Pugnotes (click here) sent us three beautiful cards of ourselves! Melissa, with the assistance of Emmit, paints pugs (one of Mum's favorite breeds) but she also does the bestest corgis and cocker spaniels - says Mum.

As you can see, M&E definitely captured the real moi (that is "me" in French, at least I hope it is. Cooper told me it was but it might mean "smells like fish soup" knowing Coop.) I had hoped Melissa would put stars in my eyes but Mum said that perhaps M&E didn't have me in mind when they painted it. I don't think so.

As you can see, M&E really are not very good artists. First off, Cooper (below) is not this good looking and he doesn't pose at all. (Mum is pulling on her hair now). Mum says they are wonderful artists and this is not necessarily Cooper but representative of his breed. Well, whatever it is, it definitely looks like a Cocker Spaniel but Cooper is much uglier and smells funny.

Now the next picture (below) is where M&E ran into some real problems which is not surprising since it is Dottie. First off, Dottie is not that good-looking (see notes above on Cooper) and second, M&E have made her look totally innocent which she is not. Her eyes should be bright red (devil eyes) and she should be drooling or at least have grass hanging out of her mouth. (Mum is now hitting her head against the wall, whatever that means)

Mum says Melissa and Emmit are really good artists and no one should listen to me (not!). Now Mum is ranting something about it not being all about me (whatever!) but I think we all know if it isn't about me, then what is the point? Exactly.

Anyway, Mum says you should see all the other neat stuff Melissa makes and sells - plus M&E are having a giveaway but you will want to enter right away because the drawing is on Friday. Go to their blog by
clicking here and then scroll down to see the giveaway entry.

Mum has to get to work and I need my first beauty nap of the day...because really, it is all about me.

Potpourri in the Evening - from Dozer

Mum got her camera battery charged and all sort of mayhem started. First she got a hold of Dottie, poor thing. Dottie is used to having her picture taken so she did some posing (in anticipation of her new collar arriving from LindenDesigns. Dottie wants to send Joan some pictures to see if she can be a spokesdog or model for her).
This was Mum's attempt at being slightly artsy - note the black and white tones. Honestly, if I had enough money I would send Mum to school to learn how to take pictures.
This is Coop, who hates to have his picture taken pleading to be left alone. Note that Mum did trim his topknot so he does not look so much like a camel.
I call this one "JAWS". Scary, isn't it? We were playing 'Pig in a Blanket" (I had the starring role) and Mum rolled me with one hand and snapped with the other.
I call this last picture "FEED ME BEFORE I STARVE TO DEATH!". I wish Mum had cropped Cooper's butt out of my picture. How rude.

Gotta Visit This Site - notes from Cooper

Mum and I discovered a delightful website and I said to Mum, Mum I sez "Why not share this with our bloggy friends?" And Mum sez "Why Cooper, how thoughtful of you!" So here is my new favorite website which is called I Has a Hotdog and I had Mum link the title of this entry and also if you click here you can go visit. Just be prepared to spend a bunch of time scrolling through the gigazillion pictures they have.

Mum cracked up over this one..probably reminds her of the toilet paper incident.

Been there, done that.

Take note Dozer...enough said!

Ever Wonder?

I thought it would be interesting this evening to see what sort of pictures Mum has on her phone. She seems to snap them occasionally and I was curious to see what she has. Since Mum is watching the Oregon State University v. USC football game on television, I corraled Dottie to help me download the pictures.
Hmm, why would Mum waste digital digits on Cooper? He's giving Mum his googly eyes. Mum is a real softy for Coop's soft muzzle and eyes. Little does she know...

This is how I spend my evenings before Dad comes to bed. I lie with Mummy and get an evening back rub and then I stretch out and watch PBS.
Ah, here are my googly eyes. I seem to have lost my right ear but it usually snaps right back up.
Cover the children's' eyes! Mum really needs to filter her pictures. I think she was trying to capture the really long hair between my pads on my feet. Who knew she would show how big my hips are? It's the camera, it always adds 10 pounds!

Ahh, nothing like a little sleep on one's back to get the trip to Sand Land off to a good start!

Note the nice turn of the head. Not all dogs can be this stylish, it takes a professional.

Ah, my winsome look that just says "This dog needs a scratch behind the ears and a good tummy rub!"

Cooper again? This is Coop tucked in for the night. He was shivering so Mum got a towel and tucked him up in it. What a wooose!

Apparently Coop warmed up sufficiently that he got on top of his towel. He is so fickle!

More pictures of Cooper? Mum loves it when Cooper splays out on the floor. He looks like a rug for Pete's sake!

Ah, this was a great car Mum saw on a Saturday antique foray. The owner had glued small plastic soldiers and dinosaurs and animals all over the hood and roof. Sort of a mobile art feast.
Oh give me a break! Mum says this one is different because Cooper has his head between his paws. Yeah right. He's a rug Mum!

This is from 2007 - Mum needs to clear out the files a bit. This is the Women of Faith Conference in Portland, Oregon that Mummy goes to every year with Aunt Margaret. We are not allowed to go because it is 45,000 singing Christian women waving their arms and bouncing off the ceiling. Mum loves it because it is at the Rose Quarter and they make all the men's' bathrooms accessible to women so there is almost no waiting in line. I guess it is the simple pleasures in life. Me, the whole world is my toilet so you can put a sign up on the door but it doesn't stop me! BOL!

And this would be Aunt Margaret - isn't she a cutie? She loves me best of all, pretty much because she has never met Cooper or Dottie. Hey, she thinks of me as her little Dozer-Man and that suits me fine.

Mum took this picture of the ceiling at the restaurant where she and Aunt Margaret had dinner last year after the conference was over. She tried taking a picture of the menu because it has ostrich filets on it, which she found odd and strangely upsetting. Yeech, who would eat an ostrich? They have long, skinny legs and all those feathers...

And here we end up with me asleep in Dad's lap, which I do each evening. I am very possessive of Dad's lap and go slightly insane when Cooper gets up in my spot. Mum says Cooper plans all this because I immediately get off Mum's lap and jump up on Dad's lap and then Cooper moves over to Mum's lap and settles in for some lovin'. I don't understand this psychology stuff and I sincerely doubt that Cooper has any idea of what he is doing, but if it makes Mummy happy to analyze dogs, more power to her.

Well, that pretty winds up the photo-logue for this evening. I think we have all learned a valuable lesson - leave Mum's pictures on her phone, these are incredibly boring - except for the pictures of me of course.

Cooper Rocks

Cooper's da man! He is inside the Mutts Comics website as one of their shelter stories! I think Mum got this picture before Coop figured out the camera business and decided to opt out of his portrait sessions. He's lookin' pretty regal there. Of course Coop is so shy and retiring he won't say anything about it, but I think he should get to be the star occasionally (just not all the time, 'cause I am a Corgi and we always have to be the center of attention!)
