Presents! Presents! But Not All For Me - Dozer

Melissa and Emmit at Pugnotes (click here) sent us three beautiful cards of ourselves! Melissa, with the assistance of Emmit, paints pugs (one of Mum's favorite breeds) but she also does the bestest corgis and cocker spaniels - says Mum.

As you can see, M&E definitely captured the real moi (that is "me" in French, at least I hope it is. Cooper told me it was but it might mean "smells like fish soup" knowing Coop.) I had hoped Melissa would put stars in my eyes but Mum said that perhaps M&E didn't have me in mind when they painted it. I don't think so.

As you can see, M&E really are not very good artists. First off, Cooper (below) is not this good looking and he doesn't pose at all. (Mum is pulling on her hair now). Mum says they are wonderful artists and this is not necessarily Cooper but representative of his breed. Well, whatever it is, it definitely looks like a Cocker Spaniel but Cooper is much uglier and smells funny.

Now the next picture (below) is where M&E ran into some real problems which is not surprising since it is Dottie. First off, Dottie is not that good-looking (see notes above on Cooper) and second, M&E have made her look totally innocent which she is not. Her eyes should be bright red (devil eyes) and she should be drooling or at least have grass hanging out of her mouth. (Mum is now hitting her head against the wall, whatever that means)

Mum says Melissa and Emmit are really good artists and no one should listen to me (not!). Now Mum is ranting something about it not being all about me (whatever!) but I think we all know if it isn't about me, then what is the point? Exactly.

Anyway, Mum says you should see all the other neat stuff Melissa makes and sells - plus M&E are having a giveaway but you will want to enter right away because the drawing is on Friday. Go to their blog by
clicking here and then scroll down to see the giveaway entry.

Mum has to get to work and I need my first beauty nap of the day...because really, it is all about me.

Notes from Howie in Texas - Dozer

Message No. 1:

Emmy, are you sure we can't eat Burt? He smells delishush! I've got him here in the back yard so when I run out the doggy door I can pee on his leg so he will feel right at home. Dozer and Cooper, make room on that big bed, we're leaving Burt outside so I don't gotta share the pillow.xxxoo Howie

Message No. 2:

Dozer, if we get some sheep, does that mean we can eat Burt the Buffalo? Do you think Emmy will notice if Burt is on a bun with extra ketchup instead of in the back yard grazing?Howard Pee Host Puggy

Message No. 3:

This here is Howie and now I am REALLY Confused. Didn't Aunty Melissa send us BURT ahead of Emmy? So that's like our FOOD before our guest, right?? So to me, the way I thinks about it, we need to fire up the big grill!!!! It's time to roast up Burt!!! mmm.

Message No. 4:

Dozer and Coop, this here is Howie and um, yea, that's a real cute card, but back to the whole food thing. I got some bad news about Burt. Before I tell you the bad news, do you think Emmy was real attached to Burt?

Message No. 5:

Oh, um, ahem, hey Doze and Coopster it's me Howie again. Mom's gone to bed so I took over the 'puter. And I got just one more question - don't you guys think it's really twilight zoney kinda STRANGE that our moms have the SAME NAME and our moms are BOTH WEIRD???? *creepy music playing in background* Do you think maybe we got the SAME MOMS!!!!????

Note to self: Find out how much Emmitt liked Burt, check into whether I was adopted, research Mum's background and get train tickets to Texas.

Cover Your Eyes - Shield the Children!

First, Cooper is not a Corgi, he is an American Cocker Spaniel. And as such, he should act like a Cocker Spaniel and sleep on his side. I caught him napping on the bed and he was giggling because he was sleeping on his back, just like I do! He said his tummy slid all over and finally settled on his sides and his legs just went where they wanted. He started laughing so hard I thought he would fall off the bed. I do not see what is so humorous! Cooper had me measure how long and wide he is so Howie Pee Pants can measure his parents bed to make sure there is plenty of room for me, Cooper and Emmit. I am not sure if Emmit is bringing friends so Howie, you better make sure you have a spare bed or couch.
Crikey, you could play connect-the-dots on Cooper's tummy. BOL!

Cooper gets bigger when he lies on his back. I finally got him up and made him start packing for Texas. We aren't sure what to take but we think you have to have a cowboy hat to get into the state. Cooper wants to see George Strait's house and meet him. I will have to check with Howie and see if he knows Mr. Strait. Personally, I would like to meet Mrs. Strait because I bet she is the one with the treats.

Yawn...I have to go to bed now..all this planning for our trip to Texas is tiring. Night Howie, we'll be there before you know it.

Stay..No We Must Go!

We received the following from Emmitt the Pug:

emmitt is bummed you are staying home. he says, not him. he is on hiz way to texas to see howie and all the p's.ps he is bringing all the food he can smuggle out of the house.
(see picture of all the stuff emmitt has already snatched for the trip. how did he carry it all!)

And then we heard from our host, Howie Pee Pants:

Oh Hey, I saved you guys an old banana peel and it is getting brown. If you don't hurry up and get here, I'm gonna be forced to eat it. We can't be lettin good food go ta waste.your conservationistic puggypal, Howie Pee
And then Howie sent this as well:

Hey Coopsterman, what time is the pawty arrivin? I haven't told mom you are all comin to the house. It will be a sprize.Your good pal,PeeMan in Texas

Cooper doesn't want to go now because he has never had a sleepover with Howie and he isn't sure if they have enough beds and sometimes he wets his when he is away from home. (Is this a disaster waiting to happen or what?) Anyway, I will talk to Cooper and see what we can arrange.

Obviously we cannot stay here in Oregon when others are counting on us.

Present for Me? What a Good Idea! - Dozer

A big box arrived for me today. It came from our friend Melanie who has Shop MoeMoe at Etsy (click here to visit). We met Melanie through Melissa and Emmit the Pug (click here to vist them) who are regular bloggers. Like Melanie, Melissa is an artist.

Melanie made a wonderful Sock Puppy for Mum to give as a present before Christmas which I thought we should have kept. I didn't even get to sniff it and apparently de-stuffing it was completely out of the question. I don't remember seeing a note from Melanie saying it was special and could not be played with. Mum ordered a second Sock Puppy for herself (they are made from gloves but Mum calls them Sock Puppies for some reason) and Melanie made one. I pointed out to Mum that it did not look the same as the first one and that perhaps Melanie had forgotten what they were supposed to look like. Mum said Sock Puppies are just like corgis, no two are the same. After I thought about it, I decided that made sense in a strange sewing-machine-stitching-artsy way.

I thought perhaps Sock Puppy would be given to me to play with but Mum immediately took his picture to send to friends and then she parked him on the arm of her lamp in her office. I cannot figure out what is going on because he looks like a toy, he sits like a toy so he should be mine!
This is Sock Puppy. He was very hard to take a picture of because he kept moving and looking around. He has a ski hat on which matches his neck muff/scarf.

Melanie also sent a little Corgi Puff which unfortunately looks exactly like Dottie. Obviously Melanie needs some professional help because no artist would use Dottie as a model. What was she thinking? Mum says it is just coincidence but a magical coincidence. What about me? Why didn't Melanie make the Corgi Puff look like me?

Mum is a bit torn but Cooper says she will probably send the Corgi Puff onto Dottie's previous owner,
Betty (click here to read about Betty). That is a very good idea in my book! We don't need Dottie getting any more airs than she already has.

Mum says we have to thank Melanie for Sock Puppy and the Corgi Puff....sheesh, okay, thank you Melanie. Maybe next time Melanie will remember to put care and use instructions when she sends these Sock Puppies out. I could be gnawing his eyes out if she had just put down that he was a toy and not a piece of art!
