Sending Love to Juno the Dog

This is what I have been reduced to. Sitting under Mum's art table while she makes birthday cards for people at work. The most attention I can get is if her foot accidentally knocks against me and in my deep sadness I pretend she is petting me (big sigh) Well yes, I don't have my collar on but I have to wear it when Mum is out of the house and at night. And yes, I am not in my cage because Mum carried me into the art room. But that does not count. I am no longer the top dog, Cooper has muscled in again and jumps in Mum's lap on a moment's notice. (big sigh).

These were my happy days, when I was top dog and I got to sit on top of the old couch (may it rest in peace).  No, don't worry about me, I'll be fine. You just go ahead and run off and play in the dog park, or play tag in the living room. No one remembers the disabled and sick. Oh sure lots of nice comments right after my surgery and promises...but where are my mini-meatloafs? No where, that's where! Mum says I have package from Emmitt but I cannot open it until tomorrow morning because I have been such a whining mass of corgi tonight. Whatever.

Mum says that our new friend, Juno, is not well and makes me look like a goldbricker, whatever that is. Anyway, Mum read me Juno's blog and even though the old bat is usually wrong, this time she was right. Please go leave Juno a big bunch of love (you should have lots of it left over since you haven't sent any my way) and leave a note. Click here and leave a sloppy comment so he has something to read in his sick bed. I bet his Mum lets him eat in bed. Turn over your water bowl one time in Mum's bed and you're marked for life. But don't worry about me, you just go on and have fun. I'll just lie here under the art table.

Cards for Pets

These cards are just cracking Mum up. You can find these and even funnier ones at Sincerely Fido (they have kat ones too). Humans, it takes so little to keep them amused. ~ Cooper

Cooper Cheats! - notes from Dozer

Cooper gave Mum this card today and it isn't Valentine's Day until Saturday! The inside says "you're my cup of tea!" (he never capitalizes). Coop is such doofus! Can't he read the calendar? Now the pressure is on me and Dottie to come up with our valentines. Dottie says she is going to make hers out of bones and do a mosaic picture. I think I am starting to sweat, my pads are all giggly and moist. I am going to call Howie PeePants and see what he suggests. Cooper isn't playing fair.

Finally Christmas Starts! - Dozer

It was no mean feat but I finally got Mum to get the Christmas cards ordered. We missed being in the DWB's Christmas card exchange but there are still family and friends who depend on a visual reminder of us each year. Mum sat on the bed with her laptop last night watching The Librarian while I helped her look at pictures and decide which showcased my stunning good looks best. Oh yeah, and Cooper and Dottie as well. Mum took pictures of each of us in Christmas hats but Dottie wouldn't let herself be photographed - she'd wear the hat but then she just looked down at the floor. Mum said a dejected elf was not going to work so we went with portraits instead. Mum had some sort of snowflake design for the background but I nixed that. Come on! Men do not do snowflakes. We compromised on the plaid which reminds us of our Scottish roots and which really set off my eyes quite nicely. If you would like a card you have to send us your mailing address. You can contact us through out blog and then we will send you our real email address - Mum really hates programs that harvest email addresses. Someone did that last week and her Spam box had over 2,750 emails, none of which had any redeeming qualities or mentioned dog food. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Dog Gone it Birthday Card - Dozer's Notes

I helped Mum make this card for Auntie Laura's birthday this coming Friday. Auntie Laura has four Chihuahua's (Tucker, Sparky, Katie, and Molly). So I told Mum that a dog-themed card would be the order of the day but that she could not post this entry until Wednesday when we will be celebrating Auntie Laura's big day. Not that I don't trust Auntie Laura, but she does check the Internet at lunchtime and she might stumble upon my blog and then she would see what I made her. We bought her a cute little scrapbook she can make for her pups and Mum said she will wrap it in the gift wrap she made with pictures of us. I will have Mum scan some so you can see how handsome I am on paper. What can I say? I have permanent eyeliner and a smile..it's a gift! ~ Dozer

P.S. I decided not to wait to post this and we will hope Auntie Laura doesn't spot it.

Christmas is Coming, Send Us Chukars!

We just found out that Pat Wray (below) is an author on how to hunt and kill chukars. We aren't sure what chukars are per se, but if they have feathers and wings, they sound tasty. So we decided we would put a link to his book here on our blog and perhaps Mr. Wray will send us some of those chukars. No need to de-feather as such, we can handle that here at home. Of course Mum will be slightly peeved if she comes in from work and the house is full of feathers, but a present is a present and we will have eaten the evidence before she rolls in.

And speaking of Christmastide, Mum finally got around to getting a Christmas card organized! Both Coop and I have been posing all over the place and Mum was not catching the hint at all! Finally I got the calendar down for Coop to chew on and Mum caught the hint. She went to Shutterfly (the photoshop of choice for Dogster groupies) and ordered a bizillion cards with my picture on it! How cool is that? Cooper doesn't really care because Mum also created a collage poster of us and he got to star in that. Check out our card below. Mum did a pretty good job if I say so myself.
