Mum went and left us for an entire night to go see her friend Delight in Portland and then go to the dentist. We stayed home with Dad but we should have been allowed to go on the trip. Even though my leg is ever so slightly better, I have so much pent up energy I am about to go bonkers.
Cooper suggested we keep watch for Mum all night, in case she came to her senses and came home to tuck us into bed. But she did not. So I was both sad and bonkers.
Mum is home now and we can leave our sentry duty. But this enforced rest is still so boring...

Happy New Year to Our Friends!
We have been "incognito" for the past two weeks because we took a trip with Mum and Da and I didn't want people to know we were away because they might have come and robbed the house. I told Mum no tweets, no blog entries, no Facebook notes, nothing(!) because we left most of our toys in the house and I felt sure there were nefarious individuals out there waiting to get our felties, tug toys, balls and other special toys!
We drove to Arizona and stayed in our little house there. We saw our Uncle Bryan and our cousin Beau the Basset (he has 2,400 friends on Facebook - can you believe it?)
This here is Beau. He is wearing a Christmas ribbon that our GrandMere put on him.
This is Uncle B showing Cooper the nice lunch we had. Cooper didn't get any.

This is Cooper sleeping off his Christmas lunch.
These are Cooper's paws again, the ones Mum loves.
This is me sleeping next to my boy while he is talking on Facebook.
This is me playing tug with my boy. I won.
We are glad to be back and send Happy New Year wishes to all out bloggy pals!
Love, Dozer and Cooper
P.S. It snowed on the way home and it made getting through the passes long and arduous. Good thing Dad drove!

Out of Detention!
I still don't get my picture as the profile picture for the blog back, but I can move freely again and rejoin the family unit! Whoo hoo!

Cooper had to go to the vet on Saturday to get his ear checked, its the one I tagged. He didn't have to get stitches or anything.
This was our walk tonight at Philomath Park, we got to play in the water and mud.

We're Bachelors for the Weekend!
Mum has left for North Carolina to see her parents.
Dad is hangin' with us in our hood.
We thought we'd wait by our window in
case Mum comes to her senses and comes back
tonight. But Dottie says she won't.
Cooper is crying but I'm not.
I'm tough, Corgis don't cry.
If you see Mum could you tell her she needs
to come home right now? It is really important.
Dad doesn't know my bed time song or how
to tuck me in.
And Cooper needs his nose wiped. And soon.

Let's Go Pub Crawling! - Dozer
My good friends, Gerald and Janice, live in British Columbia (BC for short). They are building a house on an island which sounds grand to me. They sent this picture to me - Janice is always so thoughtful, always thinking of me. So I thought it might be a good time to visit Gerald and Janice at their house. Their blog is so inviting and although they haven't actually asked me to visit, I can tell they really want me to stop by.
So I asked Mum if we could do a road trip up to BC to visit Gerald and Janice and go to the pub they mention in their blog. Being a Welsh Pembroke Corgi it is practically in my genes to visit pubs and they have the best snackies at these establishments. Not to mention Guinness!
So Mum sits down and looks at me and asks me if I am serious. Serious? Of course I am serious. Mum looked down her nose and said "I am not driving you hundreds of miles North to cross the Canadian border and having the custom agents ask me the purpose of my visit and have to say I am taking my corgi to a pub to meet Gerald and Janice to drink Guinness and eat snackies."
Mum's attitude mystifies me. What is wrong with a social visit to BC to have a drink? I have all my vaccinations and I am up-to-date on my shots. What is the problem here? Coop says apparently there is a big problem because Mum rolled her eyes and left the room muttering something about having an insane dog. Since Dottie is the only insane one here, I think Mum is mistaken if she thought I planned to bring Cooper and Dottie. They can stay here in Oregon and get the mail.
Janice, don't get the snackies out just yet. I'll keep working on Mum.

Dottie's Visit to Her Former Home
Mum took Dottie to Vancouver, Washington to see Betty, who was Dottie's Mummy before the changeover. Betty was waiting for Mum and Dottie when they arrived. Dottie recognized her old home and had to check out everything - she said she went around the backyard and even found some cat poo to munch on. (I am really mad Mummy didn't take me too! Betty had a Pembroke Corgi once, I could have reminded her of Kidd!) Anyway. Mum and Betty had coffee and pecan rolls and talked and talked and talked. Pecan rolls! Warm pecan rolls! I should have gotten to go! I love pecan rolls! Especially ones warmed up in the microwave.
Dottie found the cat poo. Lucky dog!
Dottie checking out the bushes for pee mail.
Checking out the side of the shed. It's where the bestcat poo is. It ages well back there.
Here is Dottie checking out the flora and fauna.
Dottie had her nose into everything.
This where Dottie used to lie when she lived with Betty.Dottie could watch Betty in the kitchen
and see everything that was going on.
She looks like the perfect grandmother, which apparently
she is! She fed Dots lots and lots of baby carrots as treats. But she
didn't send even one home to me.
to us. Dottie really remembered Betty and she had a great time. Mum
thought it was very sweet that Dots looked back at Betty when they
left. It made Mum realize how lucky she and Dottie are to be
able to call Betty a "friend", except Betty is really more
like family now. She's that kind of lady - classy and cute!
Dottie and her first Mum, Betty.
Aren't they a cute couple? Yeah we think so too.
Anyway. Mum came home and was really, really tired. So we had her lay down on the bed and we snuggled with her for an hour. Dottie sacked out on the floor and started snoring. She also had a lot of carrot farts - fragrant but organic! BOL! Mum has to print off pictures for Betty tomorrow and send them off. Mum is just happy to finally have a picture of Betty. Now Betty is hanging over Mum's desk at work and in her craft room. And that is okay, she just has to have an equal or greater number of pictures of me. "Cause, it's all about me...right?

Home Again!

Mum bought this atrocious fence-thing for the car which made Coop and moi sit in the back and gave us no access to the front of the car. This was incredibly rude of Mum and I found it quite depressing. Unfortunately, Coop was not able to stand with me on this one. Just as I was showing him how to give Mummy the stink-eye, he completely lost interest and fell asleep. How worthless is t
hat? It made my job must more difficult but fortunately our cousin, Benny, did his best to make up for the lack of energy on Cooper's part.

It made my job must more difficult but fortunately our cousin, Benny, did his best to make up for the lack of energy on Cooper's part.Mummy drove most of the way home and we hit a sandstorm in Arizona before we crossed over to California. It has probably made Mum's air filter one gummy mess, but it kept the car going and none of us opened a window or anything silly like that. It made the sky pretty dirty but before we knew it, the storm was gone.
We drove a long, long way and made it all the way to Yreka, California before we stopped for the night. The pass was a mess with snow and ice and Mummy and Uncle Anthony said we needed to sleep and make a start in the morning. The Best Western Hotel only had one room left and we had to all sleep in one bed, two people and three dogs. I slep

It was a zoo.It is good to be home but we miss Dad a lot. Mum has been cleaning the kitchen and a lot of the house like a maniac which is troubling. It means a lot of our best toys are going into the dishwasher to be cleaned which means all the good smells go away. To retaliate, Coop and I took two rolls of toilet paper out of the bathroom last night and destroyed them. Unfortunately, Mum has a sinus infection so her reactions wasn't worth the effort. Tomorrow is another day.
