How to Eat a Zucchini by Cooper Edwards

I got a zucchini from Mum to chew on. It was most delicious.
First I rolled it in the grass but I almost lost it because it was green and blended into the grass.
One must keep a firm grasp on the zucchini lest it roll away or be taken by strangers.
As I got to end of my nom, nom good zucchini I had to get down on its level.
I ate the zucchini chips at the very end, had a slight belch and fart (which Mum said sounded very wet) and called it a lovely snack.
See the trail we have made in the yard? See Dozer at the end of the trail by the tree? He was a very bad corgi last week and is still earning his way back into Mum's good graces. He attacked me to get the apple I had and we had a giganormous fight. He bit my neck but I gave him a "what for" below his left eye and left a big ol'divet! Mum was not happy and now Dozer has to earn everything from breakfast to walks to play. He is also taking "Good Traveler" tablets twice a day (as Julie our trainer suggested) because it will tone down his dominance issues and help with his attitude adjustment. Dozer apologized to me and even cleaned up my neck and ear for me. He said not to tell Mum because she would think he was a baby.

So we are all fine now and we are working on better manners. Mum even let Dozer attack the hose (the hose is stil safe which should tell you something about Dozer's fighting skills).

Dozer needs his nails clipped. He's getting that done later this week but Mum said not to tell him.

Lots of love from Cooper.

Saturday Doings - Notes from Dozer

Mum seems bent on accomplishing a lot this weekend. We went to the All Natural Doggie Day Spa and each of us had our nails done. We love the women there and they love me. How they 'ooo' and 'ahhhh' over me is almost embarressing. What Mum has not figured out is why we make such a fuss at the vet if we have to have our nails cut, but will stand still and let the ladies at the Spa do it without a growl. Go figure! It is very hot here. So Mum cleaned my pool and filled it up. Nothing makes you feel cooler than having your paws in a pool. Now if Mum would just throw some dog cookies in so I could snack while I cool off.

Got My Teeth Cleaned

Cooper here:

That's me over there, feeling a little woozy.

This morning Mummy did not feed me breakfast. I knew something was up. Dozer was going ballistic for his kibble.

Mum put my leash on and put me in the car and then ran back in to feed Dozer before he gave himself a fit for lack of food.

Mummy took me to Ark Animal Hospital where they love me. I tried to show them how much I loved them by peeing on the floor. Sharon the receptionist cleaned it up and was very nice about the whole incident.

I was a very good dog. I was nice enough to let them take x-rays of my teeth without even being under anesthetic. Everyone was very impressed that I laid on my back and stayed there while they took the magical pictures.

I don't remember much about the day except that I slept a lot. I did mange to poo in my kennel and got it all over my butt, so the staff got out the water and cleaned me up. When Mum picked me up I was a bit wobbly and feeling very stressed. She carried me out to the car and got me home where I kept walking around and giving Mummy strange looks - like I didn't know where I was or who she was.

I am slowly waking up but Mummy is putting me to bed early and I get to sleep in the big bed with Dozer and Mummy! We just have to wait until 8pm for dinner and I only get half of my usual fare. I don't care, I just want Mummy to hold me and tell me how nice I am.

My teeth are all clean and I didn't have any extractions or anything like that. They did clip my nails which aren't easy to find with all my fur. For a whole lot of dollars Mummy said I should be in tip top shape! But Mum said I am worth a million bucks, so a couple of hundred is just a drop in the bucket!
