Mum is Home!

Look! Mum has come home and everything is right with the world again! See the smile on my face? It isn't there just because she bought a 25 pound bag of dog food in the door with her! BOL! Pig pile on the bed tonight!

The Camera Lies!

I am not sleeping next to my brother.

It may look like we are touching, but we are not!

The evidence shows that we are not touching body parts.

I do not like Cooper and I am not sleeping next to him!
End of story!

The Truth - Finally!

Well, here is the evidence! No one believed me when I said that Cooper was having paper treats under the bed but I got Mum's cellphone and here is the evidence. Cooper loves paper goods for snackies. Mum says it is probably because he survived on eating paper in his former abusive home - I think it is Cooper being strange. Check out the evidence for yourself. Hmmm, Coop is definitely chowing down on the paper towel.

Nice action shot, eh? Coop like to tear, chew and swallow.

That's right just put your snout into it Spaniel Boy!

And of course after an evening snack of paper, Cooper goes to bed with an innocent look on his visage (that French for face, I looked it up). What the parents don't know is that Cooper has a paperback book under the bed he is snacking on. He's already through Chapter One.

This is my sad look. No one will play ball or fetch with me because of my leg. The pain medication helps but I am still bored.

What do you mean I am not supposed to be at this end of the bed? You get to sleep at this end of the bed, shouldn't I get the same opportunity? Sheesh!

Breakfast in Bed - Notes from Dozer Dog

Breakfast is our favorite meal of the day, right after dinner of course. I prefer to eat my breakfast in bed, while others in the family maintain eating breakfast in the kitchen is the way to start the day. Whatever the case, a good dental chewie after kibble, cleanses the palate and gives one’s tummy the satisfaction of a good chew. This is all in preparation of a good morning nap, which for today is needed because it is grey and rainy here in Oregon. Yawn, I go sleep now…

Dottie likes to eat halfway in the kitchen and halfway into the living room.

Oh so tasty and leather-like!

Everything goes well with a chewie in the morning!

I love my bed.

Very good chewie.

A wonderful way to start my day!

Sleepy Sunday - Notes from Nancy

Ssshh! No one likes an afternoon nap more than Cooper, on our bed, on the quilts. He loves to start it off with a nice backrub. For some reason he enjoys snaking his head across the quilt and having his head and back rubbed. He sneezes and snorts and rolls back and forth - all to the dismay of his brother Dozer!

Browsing for Beds - Dozer

So I have been surfing the net while I have been on my forced rest schedule and look what I found! Yes, it is a Sleep Number Bed for dogs! Can you imagine how good this would be for my leg? I know, it is as though they made it with me in mind! And it is so reasonably priced ($185.00), I think Mum could buy one for me and perhaps Cooper (Dottie doesn’t like beds you climb up on so I don’t think she would want one).

Mum says she already has my “number” and I am not getting a Sleep Number Dog Bed and the closest I will get to it will be traction where she ties me up to keep me quiet. This is the sort of atitude that is keeping our economy in the doldrums. Here I am, a poor, injured, dejected corgi trying to massage the economy, lift America’s spirits and I am working with ninnies like my Mum! You have to spend money to make money! (Someone needlepoint that into a pillow).

(big sigh) I am going to go take a nap and then I am calling the toll free number to see if they will take a credit card order. I will get my vet to write a prescription for it or for one of those scooters they advertise. The Scooter Store says that if they can’t get your insurance to okay it, they will give a scooter to you and I figure I should get one. Then I can break out from this house and head down the road to the kibble factory!

Pig in a Blanket - The Movie

This is not for the faint of heart and children under 10 years of age should only watch in the company of a parent. You've seen the trailers, you've read the reviews, now it is time for PIG IN A BLANKET - THE MOVIE!

No Blogging Today - Cooper's Notes

Mum is covering her desk and the front desk at work because the receptionist is home with her son who has Influenza B. This strain of the flu is highly contagious and no vaccine was made for it this season. The doctor put the child under quarantine and our receptionist may be coming down with it as well. Mum is popping Vitamin C like they were Skittles and drinking a lot of water. We will be back blogging once the week ends and Mum can catch her breath.

Dozer is sulking in the corner because he is afraid he will lose his audience - who am I to tell him he never had one to begin with?

Love, CooperThis picture has nothing to do with this blog entry but we thought it might make Dozer feel better since he has this need for attention.

The Legacy

Mum has had this on her computer forever and I thought it would be nice to share. ~ Cooper

The Legacy
Author Unknown

When humans die, they make a will
To leave their homes and all they have to those they love.
I, too, would make a will if I could write.
To some poor wistful, lonely stray I leave my happy home,
My dish, my cosy bed, my cushioned chair, my toy.
The well loved lap, the gentle stroking hand, the loving voice,
The place I made in someone's heart,
The love that at the last could help me to a peaceful painless end Held in loving arms.
If I should die, Oh do not say, "No more a pet I'll have, to grieve me by it's loss"
Seek out some lonely, unloved dog
And give my place to him.
This is the legacy I leave behind - 'tis all I have to give.

Yeah, I'm on the Bed

Not sure how long I will get to play on the bed in the morning with Mum so I am taking full advantage of every opportunity. Dozer is still in lock-up but is supposed to get his inner tube off today. But he still goes back to lock-up afterwards. This being top dog business rocks!

Oh Joy Joy!

I got to get on the bed last night with Mum! Dad put me up there (because I am not allowed to jump) and Mum took off the blue donut so I could lie flat. Then Mum gave me a neck rub and then moved onto a shoulder rub, neck scritching and scratching, ear massage (with lots of kisses), tummy rub and foot rub. It was glorious and I fell asleep on my back for a little bit. I wanted to stay with Mum for the night but the blue donut went back on and I had to go back to my "man cave". Hmmm, I bet I could bite that blue donut and it would be toast!

Finally Recognized as a Master

Check it out! I made it to Licked Toys! Thanks Chris and McKenzie! You guys make de-stuffing worth the effort. (And all Mum thought I did was make a mess - she missed the entire point of the exercise! BOL!)

Before there was us, there was them

Way back in history, a long time ago, in another state, (and probably another galaxy), Mum had other dogs in her life. She found this picture in her photo box. The picture dates from June 1970 - that's almost 40 years ago! (Mum must be getting old - need to keep an eye on this).

The bloodhound was Jennifer (Mummy's dog), to the left was Amanda (Uncle Andy's dog) and to the right was Snoopy (Uncle Bryan's dog). They had this metal bed and they would all pack into it together which might have worked except that Jennifer the Bloodhound was really big, even as a puppy.

These were really good dogs in Mum's life and they went to the Rainbow Bridge many years ago. They are remembered with fondness and love.

There were no digital cameras back in the dark ages of Mum's youth (check out her plaid jumper in the picture, BOL!) and no video at all. So this picture is very precious. Good thing Mummy has her digital camera now, she can take lots of pictures of me.
