Out here in Oregon we try and be as green as possible and recycle anything that is not nailed down. I have tried to recycle my brother Cooper endless times with little success. Mum continues to check the recycling bin and pulls him out and returns him to the house. It is an endless cycle that I cannot win. But! I found these creative recycling ideas that you might enjoy.

Horrors! (This is just to get your attention)
Where has the time gone? Indeed
we ask that ourselves, quite often! It was a busy May for us with our
Grandmother falling and fracturing her shoulder – Mum had to fly out to Chicago
to check out on Grandmummy and stayed
for a whole week. We were, of course, lonely, but Dad took good care of us.
While we have been away the most
shocking things have happened and we list them in no particular order:
1.
I (Dozer) have had to go to the vet because I
have rubbed my face raw due to allergies. I have another visit to the vet today
because it has begun again.
2.
Cooper had a haircut.
3. We are having a small party on July 1st for our doggie friends. Please pray that the rain stops.
4.
Grandmummy has decided to move out to Oregon so
Mum is scrambling to get GM’s apartment outfitted with furniture and essentials
at the assisted living hotel.
5. It is raining incessantly here. Even if this is typical of Oregon, it is most unwelcome.
6. Both of us have tried running away when Mummy or Dad let us out in the front yard. I made it across the street to the neighbor’s house where I pooped under their tree and pee’d on their bushes. Cooper headed straight down the street towards town and ignored all of Mum’s screaming. Eventually we were corralled home and given a stern lecture. Yeah…whatever.
Mum says we will update our blog regularly now and we ask forgiveness from our subscribers for having you let you down so terribly. I would like to remind our dear readers that we are entirely dependent on Mum to keep our blog updated and current. She is totally worthless at times and her priorities need realignment.

minutes and shall update you on their findings.

Pink Baby Unwrapped!
Finally Mum got herself organized to open our package from Tibby in New York! See what a pretty job the merry Tibster did on our name and address? Very artistic!
In case you are wondering, the name of our town (Philo-math) means "City of Volunteers". The town was built around the logging industry and now we house the Benton County Historical Museum which always has great exhibits and shows. We are about as small a town as you can get and it is a bit like living back in the 1950's, something we find most endearing and delightful.
Pink Baby went over the rules for having her stay with us. Just one week - how can we show her everything Oregon in just one week? Well, we will do our best and then she will be off on another adventure.
Oh, this is me after I put Pink Baby in my mouth and ran into the living room with her. First, I am not supposed to be running and second, I am not supposed to be trying to de-stuff Pink Baby. Sorry, I got a little carried away. It won't happen again.
Pink Baby had a cup of coffee and we looked at all the entries in her scrapbook that Kylie started. Like I said, Tibby is a hard act to follow but Mum says it isn't a competition (it better not be because we're failing fast! BOL!)
Tonight Mum said we will review some Oregon history with Pink Baby and have some play time - quiet play time but play time nonetheless!

Not a really Sleepy Sunday here
It is a warm and sunny Sunday in Oregon and consequently some of us are napping more than others. Dozer has been running all over the yard and is totally soaked from playing in the hose water and his pool. This is a picture of him before he got all wet.
I chose to nap gently on my chair in the living room. I am not sure I like this hot weather so much.
Dottie likes the cool linoleum of the kitchen.
But then she decided that the grass and sunshine were calling to her.
There's a whole lot of Cardigan Corgi rolling going on here!
Check out her form and her tootheses.
I think she wore herself out with all the rolling.
Here she is! Looking pretty from all her rolling!
Mum took a really, really long video of Dozer playing with the hose and pool because he got all upset that he only had one picture in this post. Mum says she will get that up in a bit because she has laundry and more important things to do. Dozer got really mad when she said that because he said he should be the most important thing and he was going to move to British Columbia and live with Gerald and Janice if this keeps up. Mum got this funny smile on her face and said she would check the bus schedule.

Busy Sunday - From Dozer
Normally this is Sleepy Sunday and we nap but this was no ordinary Sunday. Nope, today was 'get out in the yard and plant the vegetable garden, play in the pool, eat the grass and roll around" Sunday. There are a lot of pictures so we best get started right away.
This is me looking up at Uncle Anthony who sprayed me with the hose. I tried to bite the hose and then I tried to bite the water and then I was all wet. I love water so it was a good time.
The pool is out! The pool is out! Mr. Fire Hydrant went for a swim, as did my green ball and my stuffed ball - which isn't supposed to get wet.
This is Cooper eating the grape hyacinth. He started with grass and then decided the flowers didn't taste so bad either.
Here he is taking a big bite out of something. I bet Mum would like it if he ate the dandelions.
Coop was getting tired but he kept on munching. He is out of practice over the long winter. He should really work up to this sort of thing.
This is Coop's lie down approach. He gets at eye-level with the plants.
Uh oh, Coop is getting tired but he keeps on munching.
Well, that's it then. The Coop has fallen asleep mid-chew. Shhh, we'll just let him sleep for a bit.
Meanwhile Dottie was rolling around the yard enjoying the sunshine. She fell yesterday and scared herself, but Mum said she is okay, just a little hesitant. So we aren't supposed to run around and confuse her unless we are outside and Mum is there. Whatever!
This is me and Dad on the porch swing. I still am not allowed to play fetch but we play ball where I catch the green ball in my mouth. Not as fun as fetch but better than nothing.
This is our vegetable garden. There are two kinds of lettuce on the left and peas and beans on the right.
Mum spent most of her time yelling at Cooper and me to get out of the dirt and to stop digging. Then she put this fencing up and zip-tied it so we can't get in. Where's the fun in that?

Snowy, Sleepy Sunday! - Dozer
Imagine our surprise when we got up this morning there was snow on the ground! Whooo hoo! For Oregon corgis and cockers this is a rare playtime! We went outside with Mum at 5:30am and left messages and ate the white stuff. Dottie, being blind, took a little longer to get into the fun but once she felt comfortable, she was with us as we ran around the yard. Before we settled down for our traditional "Sleepy Sunday" we decided we would see how Mr. Lambchop was faring. We were pretty sure he missed us...
We have him surrounded and in our clutches! Now let's see if he would like to play the twirly dance
We have him surrounded and in our clutches! Now let's see if he would like to play the twirly dance All this fun was exhausting so it was time to settle down to some serious napping. I helped the boy with his Facebook encounters (below). I am guarding the door in case all those girls who think he is a hottie storm our doors.

Walkin' with Mum
Mum took Dozer for a walk around the block because that is all he is allowed. Then she came home and got me for a walk to the park. Mum says I have gained a few pounds that are not healthy from all the apples I have been eating this fall and now we have to start an exercise program. I like programs. I watch them on television.
We walked down to Philomath Park and I checked out the piles of leaves, left pee mail for friends, laid in the sun until I was panting, and then we walked home. It was very nice!
I had a bath at the groomer yesterday (I got to go in the car) and they did a "touch-up" trim because I get cold in the autumn. Mum says I look like her little bear and I don't think that is necessarily a good thing. She said with my hair trimmed she can see my tummy which is a bit larger than she would like. But she said my fur is very soft and I smell really good. Then she saw all the burrs I got on our walk - honestly, that woman gets unraveled over the least little thing. What is the big deal? So she spent a ton of money at the groomers and now my hair is all matted again - and the problem is? I guess I have a date on Mum's lap to get de-tangled so I have to go.Sunday, August 24, 2008
They Didn't Take Us!
So Mum and Dad and cousin Anthony took the boat and went to Green Peter Dam* (actually we were on Foster Lake - big reservoir) which is just outside Sweet Home, Oregon. About an hour from our home. The last time they took me I wore my life vest and was very well behaved. But this time Mum didn't take me! She said there would be a lot of watercraft and she wasn't sure how well all the boating would go. She probably made a good decision on that one. There was engine trouble which took a bit to get resolved and it was sunny and a bit warm and I overheat easily.
Mum said there were interesting rocks that showed the evolution of the area. There is even on picture that shows the rocks bending! That was pretty neat to see. She took these pictures I could see the pretty trees and the lake and its "fingers" that go deep into the forest.
That's not wood, that's the rock "bending"! Mum says it takes a long, long time for that to happen. And it also involves "plates", heat and all sorts of things of that nature.
Looks like the rocks want to fall in! BOL!
Look, the rocks are slanting down into the water!I would like to go next time. I thought I would be subtle and just wear my pirate hat and that it might jog Mum's memory. Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean) has nothing on me!
Hope everyone had a nice weekend, I did! (Got to sleep on the bed with Mum last night!)
Hope everyone had a nice weekend, I did! (Got to sleep on the bed with Mum last night!)*Green Peter - peter is used to describe a rocky summit, which Green Peter has a lot of. GP is the site of a forest lookout, some books and old maps refer to this area as Bald Peter but the Linn County Fire Patrol states that Bald Peter is actually about a mile north of Green Peter. We're assuming the green refers to all the pine trees around the lake, of which there were a lot.
*Sweet Home was originally named Buckhead but somewhere in time, actually around 1874 it was renamed to Sweet Home but no one knows why.
