Thank Goodness That's Over With!
Dozer here. Well, Thanksgiving is over and I must tell you I am exhausted. Mum packed much too much into my social calendar and I simply need a good rest. Coop was no help and Dottie is blowing fluff so much that she is a massive hair ball with legs. So it was up to me to hold up the family honor over the holiday.
Mum and Dad (and my cousin Anthony) had a quiet Thanksgiving at home with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and salad. No one seemed to get the message that they should be dropping food on the floor for me and the best I got was a new bone to chew. It was thoroughly disappointing.
Friday night Mum and I walked in the annual Corvallis Christmas Parade with our Willamette Corgi Group (Corgi Picnic). My Auntie DeeDee sent money for Mum to buy me my very own Flexible Flyer Wagon with red, wood sides. Mum and I went to Robinett's Hardware Store, which is a really nice old fashioned hardware store with wood floors and all the neat stuff you need. We picked out my wagon and Mum paid for it and then we put it in the car.
Mum had to spend most of the afternoon putting lights and garlands on the wagon so it looked just right for me. But before that we went to Animal Crackers to find a plaid coat for me. I tried on a couple of different colors and we decided the red and white suited me best.

This is Mum and me just before the parade started. I sat in the wagon for a bit and then I marched but then I had to sit with Dad. Mum wanted to make sure my leg didn't get hurt which was disappointing since there was horse poop everywhere! All of my corgi friends like horse poop too and none of our parents would let us roll or eat it. What a bunch of losers!
This is Anthony and me. He can multi-task so well - rub my tummy, talk on Facebook, text on his cell phone.

"Are you looking at me?"
Dottie is usually totally black on her back but she is blowing so much fluff she looks like someone's Great Aunt Mary in a raccoon coat which is falling apart. You would think Mum would do something more than take pictures!
Mum tried taking pictures for our annual Christmas card but I was having no part of it. This is my "get out of my face" look.

(Yawn), time for me to lay down my paw and tak a nap.

Dog Gone it Birthday Card - Dozer's Notes
I helped Mum make this card for Auntie Laura's birthday this coming Friday. Auntie Laura has four Chihuahua's (Tucker, Sparky, Katie, and Molly). So I told Mum that a dog-themed card would be the order of the day but that she could not post this entry until Wednesday when we will be celebrating Auntie Laura's big day. Not that I don't trust Auntie Laura, but she does check the Internet at lunchtime and she might stumble upon my blog and then she would see what I made her. We bought her a cute little scrapbook she can make for her pups and Mum said she will wrap it in the gift wrap she made with pictures of us. I will have Mum scan some so you can see how handsome I am on paper. What can I say? I have permanent eyeliner and a smile..it's a gift! ~ Dozer
P.S. I decided not to wait to post this and we will hope Auntie Laura doesn't spot it.

Die Little Sheep, Die!
For reasons we are not quite sure of, Dozer decided during the OSU Beaver and Arizona football game to begin the de-stuffing of his treasured Lamb toy..yesh, the one they said was nearly indestructable. It lasted a long time before its fluff started disappearing. And Dozer is supposed to be having "cage rest" because of his knee surgery - I bet he'll pay big bucks for Dr. B not to see this video! BOL!
I love being in charge of the blog, I finally get to be top dog! Love, Cooper

Looks A Lot Like Christmas - Cooper
Our friend, Joan, gave Mum this card which we find hysterically funny. Of course we find anything concerning our species interesting and delightful. Mum is frantically trying to figure out what she can dress us up in for our Christmas card. She considered angel costumes but then realized the likelihood of keeping the three of us together for a picture was probably remote. But then she remembered...Photoshop! So Mum is digging through one of our Rubbermaid bins of clothing (we have two) and getting us ready for pictures. Personally I find dressing us up for a holiday picture pretty silly but it keeps Mum happy and she has the keys to the kibble can.

Early pictures of me - from Cooper's Notes
It is hard to believe that I have been in my forever home now for two years. Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday that Mum and Dad stopped by Greenhill Shelter and picked me out. It was the second time they had come to try and get me. The first time I was too sick to be adopted out. Then the shelter thought they might send me to Portland and perhaps someone there would want me, otherwise it was off to death row. But Mum and Dad took off from work on a Friday morning and drove for 45 minutes to come and get me. They brought Dozer who wasn't very excited about sharing his pawrents with me. After I got home Mum realized I smelled really, really bad. And I had gunky things in my hair and my face was all crusty. First she took me to the vet because that was the most important thing and we spent two hours and a whole bunch of money there. Then I came home and Mum and I got in the shower together and I had a shampoo and a shake. Mum said she could not believe how much I looked like the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz. I said "really" and she said, "Yes indeedy!" So, out came the camera and here I am immortalized. We simply must get Mum some professional help so she can stop carrying that camera with her all the time!

Sleep, Joyous Sleep - Notes from Cooper
As many of you know, Sunday is my day to nap. Today has been perfect for napping. It is foggy and cool and there is a lot of football on the television. As the Oregon State University Beavers won yesterday over Cal, I can only have good dreams.
Mum finds my little pink tongue hanging out when I sleep to be "cute". I am a boy dog, I do not do "cute". And my tongue sticks out because Mum had that tooth removed that acted as a corral. (I was abused in my previous home and they broke my jaw and never had it repaired, so I had a lower canine tooth that was going into my upper palate. Mum had my vet take the tooth out and I renewed my love of chewing and food consumption like a champ!)
Does Mum never tire of this tongue business? Sometimes she thinks she is being funny when she sneaks up and touches my tongue and I do not move because I am so sound asleep. Eventually I open an eye (not both, just one) and let her know that I find this sort of behavior juvenile. Silly woman. But she does have thumbs and she snuggles well.

Bad Dog Calendar - Gotta Have It!
Mum seems enchanted with the Bad Dog daily calendar and I decided to scan some of the best of them. (I am in my cage but I brought my office in with me).

Sleep Positions
Fortunately even in my cage I have been able to click off some interesting pictures of my siblings. For this foray I decided to document the interesting sleep positions of my fellow canines. They have spent a lot of this weekend napping so I had hundreds of snapshots to choose from. Okay, every one raise their paws who thinks this has to be one uncomfortable position to sleep in. I agree. What is Cooper thinking of? His neck must be made of rubber.
I am not sure but I think Dottie looks for the strangest places to sleep. She always goes for doorways, like she is guarding but usually she just trips up the pawrents. This is a true corgi pose but she looks like a pig on a spit. (Mum is giving me the "look" for saying that. It isn't like I said she should be on a spit, only that she looks like she is one fat porker on one.) Speaking of which, Dottie had her half yearly exam at the vets and she has to go back to in two weeks so they ca recheck her stomach. Apparently the massive amount of kibble she ate was like a cannonball in her gut and Dr. Lewis-Simpson said she couldn't really get anything to move. Well, ya! No joke! Again, this sort of goes hand-in-hand with my pig analogy.

Mum thinks this is one of those cute pictures that must be posted. What she doesn't know is that at the puppy farm they teach us to assume these positions as a guarantee of melting pawrents hearts, increasing treat dispersal, and generally making us irresistible. Coop must have gotten an "A" for this one!

Dottie is going to death row...
So Mum left the house this morning after putting the garbage can and the recycling can on the kitchen table so Dottie could not get them. But Mum forgot the red food can that has all our kibble in it. But Dottie did not forget it. Nope, the merry Dotster got that baby turned over and we helped her empty all four pounds of kibble in no time.
Surprisingly Dad did not find this to be the least bit amusing. And Mum said we are all on short rations for the rest of the day since our tummys feel like cannon balls. We don't care, just keep the door open for our poop parade which will start just about any time now! BOL!

Dozer Square Pants
Mango has left a new comment on your post "Dozer Squared":
Gee, that's an unfortunate place to be shaved. I don't know how you can overcome the embarassment. Its not like you can wear a hat on your butt.
Slobbers, Mango
I'm not sure that is as a supportive message that I might have wanted from Mango...man, o man, o Mango!

Dozer Squared
I am recovering nicely from my knee surgery but realize that Cooper is laughing at me every time he walks by. Mum finally got a mirror out and showed me that I have a square on my butt. How did that get there? I don't think that is funny at all. (Cooper now rolls around the floor in hysterical laughter). Mum said they did that for the surgery which makes absolutely no sense to me at all. I look like an idiot! I want a refund! And I want Cooper to stop laughing at me...now!

Good Weekend Fun
We had a busy weekend. Mum had to go to work Saturday morning for a couple of hours and then she came home to take me, Cooper, to the vet. Time for a quick exam, one vaccination and lots of cheese-in-can!
This is Stephanie, my new girlfriend. She is one of the vet tech's at Ark Animal Hospital. She likes me.
In the afternoon Mum and Dad went to Costco and did some shopping and then they came home to watch Oregon State University play football against Arizona (we won in the last 30 seconds!). I got bored watching the game and took a nap on Mum's lap. Every once in a while I run or snort which cracks Mum up. (She is so easily entertained!)
