Someone is dropping the ball here!

Cooper here. Our blog has had some serious issues of late. It seems "someone" has not been keeping up their end of the bargain and has fallen asleep on the job. I have discussed this with Mum and it shall be remedied very shortly. Until then, I think we all know who is responsible for this total lack of regard concerning the timeliness of blog entries and appropriate content. I will not point paws but I think we all know who that "someone" is.

Looks like "someone" is sleeping on the job to me.

Flys for Dessert

Mum is still pretty grossed out when she looks at me. Apparently eating the dead flies from the fly trap that fell on the ground made her tummy turn. She said my breath was breathtaking and not in a good way. She went outside and cleaned up everything like it was radioactive hazmat zone. She watched me most of the day to see if I acted funny or sick but I love dead things so no harm was done.

Cooper had his shot of Adequan today for his legs and his nails clipped. I was supposed to go to the vet and get my nails done but Mum said my breath was so atrocious that she couldn't impose me on anyone. What's with that?

It hailed and rained this afternoon. Then the temperature dropped fifteen degrees in 45 minutes. When there was a break in the clouds, we had an afternoon walk but we still got wet and cold.

So Coop is alseep in the bed by the fireplace and I am patrolling the house.

Taking a short rest from patrols...
Cooper likes to get all hot in front of the fire and then he has a lie down.
That's Coop, having a snooze fest..

Raining Again, Let's Nap

Dottie seems to find comfort knowing where the wall is. Being blind and deaf, she has found walls cannot sneak up on you and they tend to be very reliable and constant. And should the wall heater go on, she has the spot in the house to welcome the hot air!

The Camera Lies!

I am not sleeping next to my brother.

It may look like we are touching, but we are not!

The evidence shows that we are not touching body parts.

I do not like Cooper and I am not sleeping next to him!
End of story!

Thanksgiving Fun - Dozer

So Mum and Dad got a new bathtub/shower and had to empty out the bathroom. This seemed like a wonderful opportunity to grab the bath brush and take it apart. It had (notice the use of the past tense) this tulle crap rolled into a bun, which came apart like a stream of snot. I had Cooper sit by my masterpiece when I was done. (Made him look like the guilty party).
Unfortunately Mum was not so easily fooled. Apparently she had a surveillance camera going and she got this action shot. Whatever. I'll claim I was trying to save Cooper from choking or something.

Dottie is sleeping almost all the time now so she missed most of the fun. I put my chicken toy by her in case she woke up and was lonely. Most of the fluff had come out of him and was on the floor but Dottie didn't notice. Mum says we have to be extra nice to Dottie because she is slowing down and is in pain some days.

I hope this doesn't mean Dottie is leaving or anything. I don't like her. But I do love her.

Dottie - Dead or Alive? Good Guess! BOL!

Dad took this picture of Dottie. He had to check to make sure she was alive. He thought maybe this was what a dead dog looked like.

Dottie doesn't move much when she sleeps and she looked dead to him. I'm not sure, but I think Dad was a little disappointed that Dottie was still with us. She's tipped over the recycling one time too many for Dad. Mum, not so much.

Anyway, as I have said before and I will say again, doesn't Dottie look like a pig? Come on, you know she does, you just don't want to say it out loud. Look at those front legs..tell me they don't look like little pig legs. Come on, you know they do!

Mum is giving me that "look" again. So much for total honesty in my blog. Let's all pretend we're the normal nuclear family why don't we? Okay, now Mum is really giving me the "look" and pointing the "finger" towards bed. (whispers) Dottie is a piggy, Dottie is a piggy!

Cooper Fell Asleep Again! - Dozer

Once again Cooper has been a big disappointment in our packing for Texas. I was just pulling out our cowboy hats and suitcases and then I noticed he was gone. He went into Mum's office and fell asleep in front of the electric fire. Mango is right, Cooper is like one giganormous jello monster that expands, especially in front of a fire. Mum had to turn it off because Coop's fur got so hot she thought he would catch fire.

Facial Issues - Notes from Cooper

Is it me or does Dozer need to see a doctor? It looks like he has enlarged, black pores. I mean look at those spots! You could fall in and get lost in there (BOL!). And each of those craters has this giga-normous hair growing out of it.And he wonders why he isn't getting any dates? No mystery to this Cocker Spaniel! BOL! What? What's that Mummy? Those are whisker holes and the big ol' hairs are his whiskers? Well, maybe we can dye them or something. Or play connect-the-dots (BOL!)

Mum says no more joking about Dozer when he is sound asleep and can't defend himself. So all I can do is say good-night.
It is any one's guess what sort of Corgi dreams are running around in there...

Sleepy Sunday - Notes from Cooper

It was a grey and foggy morning so we decided to take naps. Mum had vacuumed the family room so we needed to get back in there to shed a bit and re-fur the fur-niture for her. Dozer fell asleep with his nose between the cushions.
You can see Dottie's fluff coming out of her fur. Mum needs to do something about that, she looks raggedy!
I started out on Mum's chair with my usual classical pose.
I started sliding a bit and lost my pose.
I'm drooling on Mum's cushion and she doesn't even know it.

Sleep, Joyous Sleep - Notes from Cooper

As many of you know, Sunday is my day to nap. Today has been perfect for napping. It is foggy and cool and there is a lot of football on the television. As the Oregon State University Beavers won yesterday over Cal, I can only have good dreams.
Mum finds my little pink tongue hanging out when I sleep to be "cute". I am a boy dog, I do not do "cute". And my tongue sticks out because Mum had that tooth removed that acted as a corral. (I was abused in my previous home and they broke my jaw and never had it repaired, so I had a lower canine tooth that was going into my upper palate. Mum had my vet take the tooth out and I renewed my love of chewing and food consumption like a champ!)

Does Mum never tire of this tongue business? Sometimes she thinks she is being funny when she sneaks up and touches my tongue and I do not move because I am so sound asleep. Eventually I open an eye (not both, just one) and let her know that I find this sort of behavior juvenile. Silly woman. But she does have thumbs and she snuggles well.

Sleep Positions

Fortunately even in my cage I have been able to click off some interesting pictures of my siblings. For this foray I decided to document the interesting sleep positions of my fellow canines. They have spent a lot of this weekend napping so I had hundreds of snapshots to choose from. Okay, every one raise their paws who thinks this has to be one uncomfortable position to sleep in. I agree. What is Cooper thinking of? His neck must be made of rubber.
I am not sure but I think Dottie looks for the strangest places to sleep. She always goes for doorways, like she is guarding but usually she just trips up the pawrents. This is a true corgi pose but she looks like a pig on a spit. (Mum is giving me the "look" for saying that. It isn't like I said she should be on a spit, only that she looks like she is one fat porker on one.) Speaking of which, Dottie had her half yearly exam at the vets and she has to go back to in two weeks so they ca recheck her stomach. Apparently the massive amount of kibble she ate was like a cannonball in her gut and Dr. Lewis-Simpson said she couldn't really get anything to move. Well, ya! No joke! Again, this sort of goes hand-in-hand with my pig analogy.

Mum thinks this is one of those cute pictures that must be posted. What she doesn't know is that at the puppy farm they teach us to assume these positions as a guarantee of melting pawrents hearts, increasing treat dispersal, and generally making us irresistible. Coop must have gotten an "A" for this one!

Love, Dozer

Sleep is Good

Competitive napping on Mum's lap is what I excel at.
What can I say, it's a gift!

Good Weekend Fun

We had a busy weekend. Mum had to go to work Saturday morning for a couple of hours and then she came home to take me, Cooper, to the vet. Time for a quick exam, one vaccination and lots of cheese-in-can!
This is Stephanie, my new girlfriend. She is one of the vet tech's at Ark Animal Hospital. She likes me.

In the afternoon Mum and Dad went to Costco and did some shopping and then they came home to watch Oregon State University play football against Arizona (we won in the last 30 seconds!). I got bored watching the game and took a nap on Mum's lap. Every once in a while I run or snort which cracks Mum up. (She is so easily entertained!)

Dozer is a whiner and he hates being in his cage, so Mum lets him out in the evening after his walk and cuddles him. He is such a baby but as they say, "he's working it".

So it is Sunday morning and I have read the paper and am now taking my morning nap. Mum is watching the Discovery channel and Dad is surfing the internet. Now if it will stop raining for a bit, Mum can take me to the park!

Sleepy Monday

It is too cold to play outside and it is nice and warm here on the couch, so I am going to take a morning nap. You wake me if there is something interesting to eat.

Oh Joy Joy!

I got to get on the bed last night with Mum! Dad put me up there (because I am not allowed to jump) and Mum took off the blue donut so I could lie flat. Then Mum gave me a neck rub and then moved onto a shoulder rub, neck scritching and scratching, ear massage (with lots of kisses), tummy rub and foot rub. It was glorious and I fell asleep on my back for a little bit. I wanted to stay with Mum for the night but the blue donut went back on and I had to go back to my "man cave". Hmmm, I bet I could bite that blue donut and it would be toast!
