Video Tips from our Aunt Nancy

Our beloved Aunt Nancy Medina who has Flower Mound Studios is making a "how to" video on painting (she is a wonderful artist). She has learned so much making her first video and we think she has come up with some novel tips, like...

• When filming a video in your studio, if you happen to own a dog who has never regurgitated in its life, it will choose a moment when you are filming to regurgitate loudly and with enthusiasm.

• When filming a video in your studio, be forewarned that at a crucial moment in the painting, your easel will most assuredly collapse, causing you to blurt out words on camera you wouldn't say in Sunday school.

• If your husband is doing the filming, even if he has never before seen a painting video, be assured he knows a lot more about what should go into your painting video than you do.

• If you happen to have four pugs in the studio with you during filming, be sure you do not begin filming one hour before the pugs' mealtime, since the elder pug will take it upon himself to find ways to creatively remind you that a mealtime is eminent.

• After you have fired the husband/cameraman, ordered him out of your studio, and exclaimed that it is time to return the new video camera to Best Buy the next day, eat chocolate. Chocolate calms the soul.

• The next morning, after husband/cameraman asks to return to his post and swears to not utter a single word during the entire filming, lock well fed pugs in kitchen and proceed with video.

Mum says there is nothing we do worth videotaping at this time, mostly because it would cause undue concern and revulsion to our viewers...whatever!

Love, Dozer

Pugs - Do They Have Necks or Not? - Dozer

I was surfing the Net the other day and found this video of confused puglets. (It is from Yahoo Videos and specifically StupidVideos.com which in no way means pugs are stupid) I had always thought corgis were superior to pugs because we had necks and pugs did not. As I tried to explain to Mum, necks are an important part of a dog's life because it is integral to accessorizing one's fashions. Without a proper neck it is difficult to wear scarves and bandanas to enhance... well, like my eyes. (This is when Mum started rolling her eyes for some reason)

So I ran smack dab into this video and was shocked to see that that if pugs don't have necks then they must be cousins to owls because they can roll their heads around like no one's business. I asked Mum how they do it and she said "It's a gift" so I guess it is something they got for Christmas. I tried imitating the pugs but I ended up looking a bit cockeyed. Mum also said if I threw my neck out that she was not taking me to the vet for physical therapy because all I do is flirt with the ladies.

I will write Howwee PeePants in Texas and find out if he has a neck and if he can roll his head around like these pugs.

Equal Time for the Lady - Dozer

It has come to my attention that while I have been taking naps that a certain older brother has been writing in our blog. Now the only reason his name is on this blog is because our Mother says it has to be. Left to me, Cooper would be writing his prose in the snow. But Mother says we have to share. That said, I would like to make it clear that I DO NOT have enlarged pores or giga-normous hairs emanating from said pores.

Mum says we have been ignoring Dottie and that we have to spend some time on her. So Mum took this video of Dottie on Christmas morning finishing a roaching session in the family room with most of our toys strewn around the room. What the video doesn't show is how bossy Dottie is to everyone. She is only ten years older than me and she just acts like she knows everything because she was a "show dog". She has all these fancy pictures of when she stood around with a bunch of ribbons. Dottie says it is because she has a tail and Cooper and I don't. Is that true? Mum says it could be and then she goes off laughing into the kitchen.

The picture below is Dottie at one of the shows with her "handler" - I am not sure what that is but I don't think I want one holding onto me. Dottie was a lot younger in this photo and now she has grey around her muzzle. But Mum says the grey is very pretty on her. (Women always back each other up.)

Okay, that's enough time on Dottie. Let's get back to something really interesting...ME! Except that it is late and Mum says it is time to climb into bed. Goodnight bloggy friends, see you later.

Dogs Rule

Mum had never seen this video before and almost had an accident because it made her laugh so hard. I think it definitely highlights the power and presence of dogs. Once Howie and Willow and I get together we will make a video of choral farting. I wonder if there is still smell-o-vision?
