For Your Consideration - CRACKER Entry/Dozer

Crackers? What exactly does that mean? A little wild? A little out of control? Well if that scares you, then I am your dog. I am Dozer and I define CRACKERS!
Santa, I told you not to cross my path. I just had to teach the jolly old fellow a lesson but now he knows what CRACKERS means!

I can hang onto this toy until you agree to another hour of "fetch". You'll never get out of this alive kid until you agree.
Being CRACKERS means being able to fool the parents into thinking you are adorable when you are really formulating new and wonderful ways to destroy the house.
The stories of my drug abuse are totally exaggerated. I went to Passages in Malibu, California only to support my friend Brittany Spears. Apparently they mistook me for a patient and the next thing I knew I was in a detox unit and flying on methadone.
But my time with Brit was good for my work on impersonations. I've got my Elvis act down perfectly now.
Being CRACKERS means being ready for any party, any time, any where. Time for the Spring Frolic? I'll bee there!
Christmas? Is there an egg nog bowl? Show me to it!
How about we play pirates? I have a wading pool and we can play "walk the plank"!
 See, I can look normal...

...but eventually the crazies surface again and the next thing you know...
I'm attacking the hose and tipping over the pool!
CRACKERS? Yeah, maybe. But who else plays fetch as good as I do?

I am like Mango because... (10 reasons why)

Mango has this great contest going on wherein one does a blog entry as to why they are like Mango or why they are a Mango wanna-be. As I have always held Mr. Mango in the highest of regard, it is easy for me to share how I have taken on some of his most sterling qualities. Shall we begin?

I am like Mango because....(10 reasons why)

(1) I have enormous teeth with which I terrorize my brother, Cooper. (Mango does the same with his brother, Dexter).

(I know this is a most scary of pictures but it was a controlled bite-fest and no one was hurt)

(2)  I am a patriotic dog and I am fighting the war on terrorism here in Philomath, Oregon. Since I started my unit, Osama Bin Laden has not been seen in the area. (Mum said Osama Bin Laden has never been seen in this area but that is immaterial).

(3) I helped send out the alert that our local food cooperative, First Alternative, was serving Mango smoothies this Spring and organized a local boycott. We sent a powerful message that Mango smoothies were just wrong!

(4) I am a snappy dresser, like Mango, and try and dress for each and every holiday.

(5) I am able to do controlled pee'ing so that Cooper and I can do synchronized pee'ing in the yard. It's not as easy as it looks.

(6) I am incredibly patient with my parents and let them use me as a prop for parades and other self-centered activities. I rarely bite small children who pull my ears and I let old ladies coo over me.

(7) I sleep in the most amazing postures, like Mango, except unlike Mango, I got no family jewels because I got tutored.

(8) Like Mango I am incredibly brave and did not cry in either of my two knee surgeries and only made a couple of rude comments when I was on the morphine. Plus, I look adorable when I am asleep.

(9) I am a dedicated sentry and rarely sleep on duty.

(10) I was the first dog in the family and made all the family pictures much more appealing with my "corginess" and yet, I have never been one to draw attention to myself.

That is pretty much my essay on how I am like Mango. Perhaps you should enter the contest! Click here and learn how you can enter.

Now I am off to stuff the ballot box if I can find it.

Love, Dozer

PS: Please keep my friend Howie PeePants in your thoughts and prayers. He is in the hospital because of pancreatitis. Go visit and let his Mum, Nancy, know you are pulling for the big guy. We love you Howie, get well soon!

We Have a Winner!

Sadie the Rescued Corgi is the winner of our 400th Blog Post Contest.

Who is Sadie you may ask - many do. She lives at http://sweetsadiethecorgi.blogspot.com/ and was rescued by her Mum:

"I rescued Sadie about three years ago, from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee. I found her on Petfinder.com. At the time, I wasn’t looking for a Corgi in particular, but I found her and fell in love. Who knows, maybe she found me!"

So Sadie Girl, send us your address - hmmm, use our Mum's email address (nancy (@) senorpuppypants.com) and we will get your gift package off to you!

Thank you all for participating and again I apologize that Mum will not allow me to give Cooper as the prize.

New Heights in Embarrassment - Dozer

So the nice folks at Rubbermaid are having this contest where you throw caution to the wind and upload a picture of your messy kitchen, garage or closet and plead for their grand prize where they get you organized (hopefully without recriminations or laughing). And of course Mum decided to think only of herself and upload a picture and make a case for needing serious assistance. She never thinks of us and how we might feel being paraded around for some big company to laugh at - I bet her entry ends up on the lunch room wall or on the water cooler and the Rubbermaid people get hernias from laughing too hard.

Here is what the grand prize looks like - and it appears to be a kitchen so I hope the Rubbermaid folks are not leaning towards awarding a kitchen the prize. Seriously, Mum does need help on so many fronts but I digress.

Mum sent in a picture similar to the one below. My pathetic looks should make the judges fold like a house of cards, especially after they read Mum's equally pathetic entry. The only good thing is that she did spell everything correctly.

The Entry:

"Somewhere in this clutter is a small Welsh Corgi. I am sure he is there, if only I could find him. I know that all my craft things will fit into the closet - after all it has the shelves already there! But I am in need of guidance as to how to do it.

This was a room as the result of a garage conversion, which was made into a very skinny bedroom. We turned it into my office/craft room. There are built-shelves, as well a bookcase, but things seemed to have gotten away from me. The upstart of the whole problem is that 1) I lose the dog on a daily basis, 2) I don't feel creative with all this clutter and 3) I am afraid if I die my mother will come to the house to console my husband and keel over when she sees this closet/room.

If I am deemed worthy of a closet re-organization you will save not only my sanity, but the life of a dog and my mother (plus other mourners she might drag to the house). The dog has a blog
www.dozerandcoop.blogspot.com which is read by many, who would miss him."

Fortunately they had a limit on the length of the pleading part of the entry. If Mum had let me write it we would surely have won...with what she sent in..well, it doesn't bode well.
