Left Behind - Not the Book Series

So Mum and Da went off and left us so they could visit the house in Arizona. I went to Inavale Farm to play with my pals and Cooper stayed home with Heidi from Kitty Meow Meow because Mum thought Cooper might like some peace and quiet after I keelhauled him last week.

I had a great time - I got a bath and a nail clip and came home exhausted.

Cooper did not have a great time - he thought he had been abandoned and he tried to scratch his way out the front door, which is metal, so he didn't get far. Then he tried to dig his way out through the carpeting by the front door, which he had even less success at.

Finally Mum came to her senses and came home. Before she left, she took these pictures of the bird's nests in the cactus outside the house. Nobody is taking babies out of these nests without permission! Check out those cactus spines!

On her trip home she saw this paper dog at the airport. He's made out of phone books and paper. Pretty cool.

When Mum picked me up from The Farm I had this neat autumnal scarf on to celebrate Fall. Dashing yes?

Cooper went bananas when we came through the door and threw himself at Mum (it was embarrassing). Then we all went out in the backyard and got an apple or two to nosh on. Cooper makes the most disgusting faces when he eats.

Now I am sitting on the couch, waiting for you to come visit me or to send a C.A.R.E. package. (big sigh).

I can't sit here all day...well, actually I can. But you could still hurry!

We Search for the Elusive Apples

I am looking for the apples. I know they are here somewhere.
This is my good side - still looking for those apples. Where are they?
They sit up in the tree and are getting ripe.
Why won't they fall down so I can eat them?
Dottie looks for the apples in the pine cone section of the yard.
She cannot find apples either, but she keeps looking.
Wait a minute! What is Cooper eating? He has an apple
and he is not sharing! Bad Cooper! Bad! Bad!
But there must be another one here somewhere.
Do you see any apples? I will keep looking because I want one!

No Camping This Weekend

We didn't go camping this weekend after all. Mum didn't feel very well on Friday and came home from work early and did a face plant into her pillow. So Cooper and I got up on the bed with her and made sure she slept with no interruptions. The pawrents are supposed to go up to Olympia next weekend and they say one of us will go with them, and two of us are going to Inavale Farm (my favorite place in the whole world!). I am pretty sure Dottie isn't going North because she barks and I really want to go to the Farm because I can play in the pond and roll in horse poopies (it's a horse farm with a 2-story dog kennel and indoor and outdoor play areas and field romps and a pond and just a totally dawg paradise). So Cooper is going to the groomer next week because if he goes North he is going to visit Grandmummy Edwards at the Foss Home and he needs to be soft and good-looking (lots luck there Ms. Groomer, it is Cooper after all! BOL!)

************************************************************************************************

So this afternoon (Saturday) Mum was reading her book about the History of Alexandria (Egypt) in the hammock and I was starving. No seriously, I was starving to the point of passing out. And the apple tree is just chock full of delicious apples and they are ready to fall. I tried to make them fall using my incredible psychic abilities but to no avail. Stupid Apples!

Come on pretty apples, fall into my mouth!

Maybe if I give this branch a little jiggle something will fall down.

Okay, here it is the full blown "stand-on-my-Corgi legs" stance.
Fall down you d%$* apples!

Dad finally shook the tree and we all got one apple apiece. Not enough to fill my tummy but enough for the moment. Of course Dottie and Cooper each got one - not like they did any work though! Sheesh!
Dottie ate her apple and the leaves and the branch.
She is starving to death too.

Goodness only knows what Cooper is doing with his apple.
If he keeps this up I am trading him to the circus as a sword swallower! BOL!

I feel faint

I need to go lie down, I am too
weak to stand.
