Dottie Update - Cooper

Blind, deaf and slightly confused and yet Dottie continues to have an incredible sense of radar when it comes to the kibble canister. While Mum took a shower, Dottie took down the kibble container and Dozer joined her for a quick nosh. Unfortunately I was deeply engrossed in my post-breakfast nap and missed the foray.

Dottie is having some problems with her hind legs when she gets up in the morning and Mum is helping her up and down the stairs to the backyard because Dots kind of fell at lunchtime. So no more jumping up and down without supervision says Mum! I could supervise, if I can do it from my chair in the living room.

Way to go Dottie. High paw my friend, my Mom keeps the stuff too well hidden for me to get to any treats. I do try though. Please Dott take it easy on your legs. Let Mommy carry you when you need it. Take a load off.

That picture is too cute! They don't even seem to mind that they were BUSTED. Poor Dottie though, getting old is No Fun is it? I guess raiding the kibble canister is her way of feeling young? GO Dottie! Live for the moment! We're all with you!!

Oh man! I got so distracted by Cooper's butt that I missed this most important update on Dottie.

Sounds a bit like my Grandpa Angus in his declining years. It helps to have companion dogs to show her where to go.

I know how you feel, Dottie. I'm having the same kind of problems some days with the hiny having a mind of it's own, as in "I don't care WHERE YOU want to go, I plan to stay right here!"

Ok, time for any youngsters to let us old girls talk privately a minute...

I've been doing a bit better since I started taking MSM/Chondroitin/& Glucosomine tablets daily. I was having a lot of trouble walking outside to pee, and when I would squat, my old legs would shake trying to hold me up. It made Mom cry... Since I started taking those tablets a couple of weeks ago, I am bouncy again, and even able to pee like I used to... with dignity and very ladylike by holding one hind leg forward and off the ground again. OC

PS It also depends, some, on the weather...
